Rainy days with 3 boys get awfully long, so last week I packed my boys in the car and went looking for fields…

Wishful thinking…

Boys will be boys :)

Almost nine years ago I was in Haiti. Needless to say, Haiti has never left my heart.
One of my closest friends, Rebecca, currently lives in Haiti and has a blog which you can check out here. Sometimes having a connection to someone makes it that much more real for us, so I encourage you to browse through some of her latest posts. She is working for Heart to Heart in Grande Goave, just outside of Port au Prince, and was severly impacted by the earthquake. Heart to Heart is based out of Abbotsford, BC, and you can visit their site by clicking here.
Many of us have been deeply affected by the events of the last 11 days, and have already given to various charities. If you are still looking for a way to help out, consider Heart to Heart. If you would like to somehow get your workplace, school, or church involved, there are a couple churches in the Lower Mainland collecting rice and buckets of supplies to ship in containers to Haiti, via Heart to Heart.
There are three ways to help:
Choose from a list of materials to donate
If you can get involved, any help is appreciated. All donations can be dropped off at Pacific Community Church (5337 180th St, Surrey) Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. If you have trouble getting donations transported, send me an email!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Danielle
This past year, my best friend Rebecca moved to Haiti to work at a children’s home, Heart to Heart. She just announced a fundraiser for the home on her blog:
The Toy Store & the Wired Monk at Crescent Beach (South Surrey) are having a fundraiser on Saturday, December 5th, 3pm – 6pm. Have your picture taken with Santa at the Toy Store and decorate a Christmas Cookie at the Wired Monk – all proceeds are going towards Heart to Heart.
For more information about H2H, please visit their site here.

Note: I’m not taking the photos… but hope to show up with my boys! See you there!
